Oshitayi Lutheran Parish (ELCIN) Church, Oshitayi Village In Ondangwa

As part of social corporate responsibility & in consultation with the Ondangwa urban councillor's office, we decided to hand a helping hand to the Elderly community of Oshitayi Village.

Where and when the event took place?

Event was held at Oshitayi Lutheran Parish (ELCIN) Church at Oshitayi Village in Ondangwa.

Why did Wana engineering decide to donate?

As part of social corporate responsibility & in consultation with the Ondangwa urban councillor's office, we decided to hand a helping hand to the Elderly community of Oshitayi Village. As we are all aware of the Covid 19 pandemic which is affecting us all, we decided to look at the elderly people who are at a higher risk of succumbing to the virus.

I must admit that another motivating factor was my late grandmother whom we shared a closed relationship with. She literally installed the 4th commandment in me and thus we should respect our elders and this goes across the board, thus not only respecting our biological parent but all elders in our communities and share the little we have with others.

What was donated?

We handed over food parcels, blankets, vitamins and immune boosters to help strengthen their immune systems.

What's the value (monetary) of the donated items?

The combination of the goods amounted to N$ 20 000.00

Who benefited from these donations?

We (The church elders, the councillor and myself) identified 95 people in and around Oshitayi Village. The majority of the people were elders over the age of 75, with some who were below 75 years whom were disabled and some who were severely affected by the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic.
